The DOH program to offer free condoms is getting flak from the Catholic clergy.
Yet before the clergy of Philippine Catholicism can claim that condoms contribute to immorality, let us pause on the scope of the current child abuse by Catholic clergy in Ireland, a bastion of Catholicism:
In Ireland, three government-ordered investigations have documented a shocking catalog of child abuse and church cover-ups from the 1930s to 1990s involving more than 15,000 children.
Also in Germany, even the Pope's brother is said to be mired in scandals involving choir members:
In the ensuing weeks, victims from the Bavarian Alps to the northern Rhineland have surfaced nearly every day with fresh allegations of abuse by priests and teachers, including at the school linked to the renown Regensburger Domspatzen boys choir led for three decades by the pope's brother the Rev. Georg Ratzinger.

The DOH is concerned more on the health of people, prevention of HIV and sexual diseases. We wonder why the Catholic Church is so adamant in preventing the DOH in doing its simple function.
The RC should clean its own house first. It has lost a lot of credibility.
Do you notice that the Philippines is near the bottom of the economic ladder in South East Asia? It is underperforming spectacularly, with an unchecked population growth, imbalanced wealth distribution. You wonder why the PHilippines is surviving in spite of these? It is our OFWs inflows of their money. Like all good things, it may stop suddenly, then we have a real painful crisis in our hands.
