Weather page combines information from various sources.

July 27. I noticed the wrong spelling of the title today.

I have an automatically updated weather page at my Life, Research, Education blog site. It combines information from PAGASA, HKO, JTWC and JMA. It is useful for this rainy and typhoon season.

Later, we will compute sunrise/sunset times, this information is given in a PDF file by PAGASA. I have inserted the page content here, it should also be automatically updated!

This automatically updated page is also mirrored as a Weather page in Digital Explorations and combines information from PAGASA, HongKong Observatory, Joint Typhoon Warning Center and Japan Meteorological Agency.

I was puzzled why some viewers come back to visit typhoon posts even when the typhoon season is over. Thankfully(No more Ondoy, Peping, Santi)! Perhaps they were looking for some satellite photos? I came around to make a page(finally!) for the visitor's convenience containing the latest satellite pictures on the weather in the vicinity of South East Asia including the Philippines.

I am splitting it off as a separate page. The U.S. (and other enlightened countries) is a very generous country when it comes to sharing weather information.Any research output supported by taxes is free for use in principle.

July 26. We noticed that the JMA chart was not properly updated. It turns out that the program was reading an old html file which was not overwritten by a new one by wget. Fixed.

July 26. We wonder why HKO photo is not updated every hour. When I do a manual update, the latest pic is shown, when left to automatic, the displayed image is 1 hour late! ....Hmmmm. Will fix this.
